Our MISSION
Assist families with sick children in our community and surrounding area to help relieve the financial burdens they experience. Also to provide backpacks filled with necessities and comfort items, activities and entertainment for sick children in hospitals.
Our LEGACY
Paizley’s Purses and Bentley’s Backpacks Foundation Legacy
Our inspiration for this foundation came from the story of Paizley Welch, who was diagnosed with a rare kidney disease called Nephrotic Syndrome on March 17, 2017. On April 27, 2017, Paizley was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) which is one of four main causes of Nephrotic Syndrome. FSGS causes scarring in parts of the kidneys, specifically the parts that filter waste from the blood and causes the kidneys to start leaking protein which then leaves the body through urine. All of this was happening to Paizley at the age of two. After not responding to many medications, it was found to be a genetic congenital Nephrotic Syndrome, this meant that there were no medications that would work to gain remission. For Paizley this meant she would progress to kidney failure and in the future and require transplant. Ten days after Paizley’s diagnoses she became a big sister to her new baby brother Bentley. What they didn’t know was that Bentley was born with the same kidney disease and would follow the similar path as his sister Paizley.
During this process it became very clear that there was a lack of sustainable funding for families, in our communities, that required constant trips out of the area to obtain medical treatments. This is where the idea for Paizley’s Purses and Bentley’s Backpacks came about. The cost for a family to stay in the hospital can vary drastically depending on the level of care required and where the hospital is located. It could surpass $4,000 per trip and not to mention the cost of a family’s time, away from school and work. For a child, that time is precious. Time they should be playing, learning, and exploring all that this world has to offer.
It’s our mission to provide local families with funding for sick kids and their needs. With your support we are able to close this gap when families need it the most.

Our Impact
Paizley’s Purses and Bentley’s Backpacks Foundation were able to provide financial assistance totaling $74,250.00 to seventeen deserving families. Your contribution directly contributed to relieving the stress these families face when it comes to attending medical appointments, obtaining necessary equipment, and covering the costs of medications and treatments. Handed out over 50 backpacks for children in hospitals.
